AMP was established in 2009, and by 2022 number of its members increased to above 150 dairy farms sized 70 to more than 2000 cows. Together they supply above 30% of industrial milk to processing. AMP is the only professional union of dairy farmers in Ukraine, defends the interests of dairy farmers at the level of central executive bodies: representatives of AMP are permanent members of working groups under the Ministry of Agriculture and other ministries, the Agrarian, Tax and other committees of the Verkhovna Rada, etc.  Within years of its work AMP developed a number of unique services for its members: Consultancy Centre with more than 50 field experts on veterinary, nutrition, animal housing and welfare, building and reconstruction, dairy farm management and economics; Analytical center for informational support and legal advice for farmers; Laboratory services; Professional magazine Milk and Farm. The main share among the services and special projects of AMP are connected with professional development, education, import and implementation of best technologies,  and experience sharing in partnership with international funds and organizations.

AMP has a wide experience in organizing biggest dairy industry events (International Dairy Congress, National Dairy Farm Days etc) aimed at sharing best cases and professional development of dairy farms personnel and managers. AMP established a training center at the base of one of the leading farms — it’s called Dairy Center Kischenzi (DCK) and regularly conducts offline and online seminars, regional trainings and workshops  for dairy farming community.

AMP closely cooperate with agrarian universities of Ukraine to provide students with industrial practice at top dairy farms.

AMP team in cooperation with EBRD and FAO developed an online training course for dairy farmers , and in 2023 is also completing a 3-year project with IFC on Development of Dairy Industry of Ukraine.

AMP is also working on promotion of agro and dairy farming as a career choice among schoolchildren — association is a co-founder of an innovative school called Ukrainian Agrarian Lyceum, and was involved in development of a training course for 10-11 forms called “Agrosphere”.
