Formulates and implements state policy in the areas of fisheries and the fishing industry, protection, use and reproduction of aquatic bioresources, regulates fisheries and safety of navigation of vessels of the fisheries fleet, in the field of topographic, geodetic and cartographic activities, land relations, land management, in the field of the State Land Cadastre, state supervision (control) in the agro-industrial complex in terms of compliance with land legislation, use and protection of land of all categories and forms of ownership, soil fertility;

develops and implements state policy in the field of national geospatial data infrastructure;

formulates and implements state policy in the field of supervision (control) in the system of engineering and technical support and innovative development of the agro-industrial complex;

develops and implements state policy in the field of land reclamation and operation of state water management facilities for complex purposes, inter-farm irrigation and drainage systems;

develops and implements state policy in the field of organic production, circulation and labeling of organic products;

develops and implements state policy in the field of food safety and certain food quality indicators, quarantine and plant protection;

develops and implements state policy in the field of veterinary medicine.

In its activities, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy is guided by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine, decrees of the President of Ukraine and resolutions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in accordance with the Constitution and laws of Ukraine, acts of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and other legislative acts.
