Stepan Gzhytskyi National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnologies Lviv is a powerful regional center of agricultural specialists, which trains 4500 students in 36 specialties.
There are 35 departments, 5 faculties at the university: Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Biology and Technology, Food Technology and Biotechnology Faculty, The Faculty of social development and health and Faculty of Economics and Management. Furthermore, Institute of Postgraduate Education and Retraining of Agribusiness, a college and scientific and educational production center.
The departments of the faculty are equipped with modern equipment for providing educational process and conducting scientific researchers.
The university is a participant in the implementation of the following projects and scholarship programs:
“Creation of a veterinary school of advanced diagnostic methods with a specialized laboratory” No. IPBU.03.01.00-06-755/11-00 within the framework of the cross-border cooperation program Poland-Belarus-Ukraine 2007-2013
the project of the European Union “Erasmus+” of the direction “Development of the potential of higher education: improvement of skills in laboratory practice among specialists of the agro-food sector of Eastern Europe”;
Ukrainian-Polish project “Digitization of the periodical scientific publication “Przegląd Weterynaryjnyj” within the framework of the task of digitization of the cultural heritage of the II Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth;
Poland-Belarus-Ukraine cross-border cooperation project “Innovative approach to historical heritage: scientific heritage of veterinary medicine of the Ukrainian-Polish border (PBU3/1055/20)”;
the Stanislav Tolpa scholarship program for young scientists;
it’s submitted a joint application with NUBIP (national coordinator), Odesa State Agrarian University, State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance to participate in the project “Digital transformation and innovation of higher education in the specialty “Veterinary Medicine” for sustainable development in Ukraine “. European partners – Germany, France, Estonia, Denmark, Slovenia (coordinator).
On June 28, 2022, with the participation of representatives of Ukrainian and British Universities, the Ambassadors of Ukraine and Great Britain, the Administration of the President of Ukraine, a solemn signing of an agreement with the Royal Veterinary College (London, Great Britain) took place within the framework of a twinning project created at the initiative of a British consulting company in the field of of higher education “Cormack Consultancy Group”. After submitting an application by the Department of International Relations, our university successfully went through the registration and selection procedure, laying the foundations for fruitful cooperation. The project provides technical support, long-term partnership between educational institutions, academic mobility of students and teachers, implementation of joint projects and development of the research potential of LNUVMB named after S. Z. Gzhitsky in the conditions of war.
Currently, there are 42 cooperation agreements with foreign partners, including within the Erasmus+ and Mevlana projects. Work is underway to introduce dual education within the framework of international agreements. Accordingly, indicators of academic mobility among students and other participants in the educational process are increasing.
