The Center for Innovative Technologies of Sustainable Pig Farming of NUBiP of Ukraine holds its first scientific event
On October 17 an international webinar “Sustainable Livestock Production and Animal Welfare: Meat Biochemistry in Relation to Animals stress” was held in frame of ERASMUS+ project «Sustainable Livestock Production and Animal Welfare». The lectures were organized by SLU as a part of Erasmus project, work packages “Capacity building and teachers training”, and “Development of innovative SuLAWe curricula and implementation”, module 1, subtopic Livestock production, raw material and final products.
The main questions of the webinar were:
- Meat history and values
- Muscle structure
- Convention of muscle to meat
- Stress-related defects in meat quality
The lecturer of the event was a professor at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (Uppsala), a specialist in external cooperation on food quality issues, coordinator of the research schools “Focus on Food and Biomaterials” and “LiFT” (“Future Technologies for Food Production”) Galiya Zamaratska.
Close to 100 participants from partner organisations from Ukraine took part in the webinar.
