LLL center on Sustainable Cattle Breeding and Milk Production was created at the S.Z. Gzytsky National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology of Lviv with the aim of training specialists in the field of sustainable development of cattle breeding and milk production, conducting scientific research, providing consulting services, and conducting outreach work for agricultural producers of medium and small farms, etc.
The main activities of the innovation center are – training, science, consultancy? education and informing.
The training direction of the Center involves:
- organization and holding of seminars, workshops, trainings for farmers and other stakeholders;
- development and implementation of educational programs for the training of specialists in the field of production and processing of livestock products;
- training courses for interested persons.
The scientific direction of the Center’s activity is to promote and conduct scientific research with the aim of studying the effectiveness of using innovative technologies in the field of animal husbandry, in particular cattle breeding, and studying their impact on productivity and animal welfare.
The consulting activity consists in providing consulting and advisory services to agricultural producers of medium and small farms, as well as to all interested persons.
The educational direction of activity consists in the modernization of the educational master’s program in the direction of sustainable livestock breeding and animal welfare.
The informational direction of the center includes the promotion of sustainable development of cattle breeding and milk production in social networks and mass media.
The Center plans to involve scientists, advisers and specialists of leading economies in carrying out scientific research, providing consulting services, etc.
The expected results of the Center’s work are primarily to increase the awareness of farmers and interested parties regarding the effective management of the livestock industry in the context of sustainable animal husbandry. The center plans to become a platform for the exchange of ideas and research, which can contribute to the development of new innovative approaches in the management of dairy cattle and milk production. The center will try to become an attractive platform for investors, will contribute to the sustainable development of rural areas and increase the awareness of consumers.
